Over 40 million Americans currently work from home and the trend is incessantly moving up and to the right. As someone who has navigated the work from home industry for over 7 years, I’ve put together a short list of some of the rarest and potentially lucrative opportunities I could find.
I hope you enjoy, and if you have one I missed, feel free to shout at me in the comments! 🙂
DISCLAIMER: There is no guarantee that you will make money with the following opportunities. Your earnings depend on many factors, not limited to, your diligence, skills, education, location and willingness to try. The following opportunities are ones that I researched and thought sounded good. That’s all. 🙂
Be a Wrap Star – (It Works Global)
I like this particular company and I’ll tell you why.
There are a lot of network marketing companies out there to choose from, but this one, I could see being able to truly work from your phone/from home.
They have their signature product, the “It Works Wrap” and it lends itself to some eye-catching pictures that you could share on Facebook and Instagram.
I also like that they have a small upfront fee and lots of training for those who’ve never owned a home business before.
They have steady sales, and have been around for about 15 years — so they seem pretty stable.
What I don’t like, is I don’t see it being that easy to promote if you’re a guy. It seems like this company is very geared toward women, in their branding and in their product line.
If I were a woman, this’d be one of the first businesses I tried.
Income level can range from a Distributor ($100/mo) to their top tier of Black Diamond (approximately 1 million/year)
Be Creative – Fiverr.com
Fiverr.com is a great opportunity for anyone who considers themselves to be ‘creative’.
From selling a celebrity impersonation, to a logo, to singing happy birthday to a stranger – the possibilities are endless.
You might not break the bank doing gigs for $5, but it can be a healthy supplement to your income if it’s done right.
Not only do you get $5 for whatever you’re selling, but you can offer a variety of upsells, and in the end, you could make $100 for making your offer speedier, higher res more personalized, etc.
Great way to get started in the online world if you’re a newbie, and relatively risk-free.
$5 gig with possibility for lots of upsells
Become an Online Tutor – Chegg.com
Chegg.com is a neat opportunity to share your unique knowledge with students all over the world.
Chegg does a great job of finding tutoring opportunities that are a good match with your skill set and matching you up, and you then go live with a 1-on-1 tutoring session.
What I’ve found with Chegg is that the majority of the students seeking help are actually from other countries and/or English is their second language. So, a lot of the help they need is with interpreting questions on their homework assignments and exams.
I would give Chegg a perfect review, but as a newer opportunity they don’t always have enough tutoring assignments to keep everyone busy….with the exception of the peaks during final exams and midterms, then its a free-for-all.
Many of the tutors on the site make over 1k/month.
Review Search Results on Google
If you are a bit analytical, and you love Google, then this could be the perfect fit for some spare-time cash.
Assuming acceptance of your application, you’ll be tasked with searching for particular items on Google and then reviewing the results.
It helps if you are familiar with Google, Google+, Google Play, etc but assuming you are proficient in your first language, you’ll likely get accepted.
It’s not a huge money maker, but if you find yourself searching around on Google in your free time anyway, might as well get paid for it!
The only downside to this opportunity is that there often isn’t as much work available as everyone would like.
Become a Website Tester
If your fantasy is to visit new websites and install apps and provide your feedback to make them more user friendly, then this is the opportunity for you.
There are a few different companies that offer this opportunity, but UserTesting.com is my favorite.
UserTesting will give you a specific task on a website or application, and then will ask to record your screen and your voice as you navigate and complete the task. They currently pay you $10 for every 20 minute video you complete.
I’d give UserTesting a bit higher score if they had more opportunities. But, as of right now, its a race to get jobs as they become available and they go very fast.
